Have you heard about this yet? No? Well you should rectify that immediately!
In short, the yarn-a-long is a social stitching event with a focus on accessibility and community. Every designer involved has discounted patterns available and there are prizes – free patterns, yarn, kits, all sorts of goodness!
Not only am I taking part as a designer – which means that every individual pattern in my shop will be available at a 25% discount using the code FO2020 from 25th November to 5th December – but I am also donating a physical prize.
Shall we take a look and see what’s included?
Keighley Knitting Kit
- 2 x 20g hanks of Giddy Aunt Yarns Bluefaced Leicester yarn in turquoise
- 3 x 100 seed beads in pearl, silver, and dark blue
- 1 x tube of beading needles
- 1 x cotton project bag
- 1 x digital copy of Keighley (special beaded edition)
In short, you’ll get everything you need to make the special beaded version of Keighley except the knitting needles – and you’ll definitely have beads left over, should you fancy making them again.
What’s the special beaded version? I’m so glad you asked!
Well in Hand, my collection of 8 fingerless mitt knitting patterns, includes the pattern for Keighley with directions for placing beads on the stitch. The beads are totally optional, but I do think they add a little something special.
The instructions for the beads are only included with the Well in Hand collection – but to celebrate the collection being available as kits from Giddy Aunt Yarns, I created a special edition of the standalone Keighley pattern just for them that includes the beading instructions.
So, if you buy Keighley on its own from me, you’ll get the original pattern. If you buy Well in Hand, or buy Keighley as a kit from Giddy Aunt Yarns, or win this prize, you’ll get the special edition.
Just a little incentive for you to all go and look at Jan and Claire’s amazing yarns. (As if you needed an extra one!)
