Knitting • £10
Inspired by one of my favourite places in the world, Bruges, Belfort is ideal to take with you on a city break, whether it’s to knit as a holiday WIP or to wear and show off in your vacation snaps.
It’s light and airy, so it packs down small but keeps you warm, especially under a coat as you’re walking around. The bracelet length sleeves won’t drop in your carbonnade, and the gently cropped length works equally well over dresses, skirts, and trousers (but of course you can change that, if you’d like).
Circular yoke construction means there’s no seaming or assembly to fiddle with, and the relatively low yardage makes it easier to carry around. The lace yoke is challenging enough to be interesting (but not so hard that a beginner couldn’t try), but there’s plenty of easy stockinette, too.

Yoke Sizing
Your chosen body and sleeve sizes will dictate which yoke size you need to knit. The pattern will guide you through this – it’s not as complicated as it might sound! The yoke dependent measurements can be found in the preview document.
Construction
Belfort is a circular yoke garment, knit in the round from the top down. Your choice of body and sleeve sizes will tell you which yoke to knit, and how to divide the stitches for body and sleeves when the time comes. The body is then continued in the round, as is each sleeve.
You can watch a video explaining this construction method here:
