Pirouette is a romantic and elegant cover-up that can be worn as easily over a tutu as it can a sundress. Its simple design makes it neutral enough to coordinate with a variety of outfits, but the delicate picot edges and decadent satin ribbon mean it can polish off formal wear with aplomb.
The majority of the knit is a familiar top down raglan construction, with special techniques used at the hem, cuffs, and neckline for a neat, functional, beautiful finish. Elbow length sleeves are practical for messy youngsters, and the wrap means it’s easy to adjust the fit around the body.

• 307 (351, 394, 493, 580) yards / 280 (320, 360, 450, 530) metres DK weight yarn
• 4mm needles (or size needed for gauge) suitable for working both flat and small circumferences in the round
• 3.5mm needles (or size 0.5mm smaller than above) suitable for working both flat and small circumferences in the round
• 8 stitch markers (to note raglan stitches)
• sewing needle and short length of matching thread, to sew in the ribbons
• 2 lengths of 25mm / 1″ double faced satin ribbon, each 80 (95, 90, 95, 100) cm / 32 (34, 6, 38, 40)” long
• tapestry needle, to weave in ends and work seams
• spare yarn, cable, stitch holder, or other tool for putting stitches on hold
• pins, locking stitch markers, or other notions for holding pieces together while seaming
